A Secret Garden Themed Wedding at Stourton Estates
Last weekend we welcomed Sophie and Richard to the estate to celebrate their wedding. The weather was kind to them and all of us on the Stourton Team send our congratulations and wish them many happy years together.
The beauty of a wedding here is that you can have your wedding day your way. We have a couple of lovely spots around the estate where you can pitch your marquee and the style you want is completely up to you. Sophie & Richard opted for a beautiful poled marquee pitched in the arboretum overlooking the old hall lawn and deer park beyond, but we’ve also had frame marquees and tipi style marquees. Alternatively you can create a woodland wedding and hire our Safari Tent with all the essentials as part of a package and let use make your dream day come true. Our safari tent can comfortably sit approximately 120 guests, with room to boogie!
The entrance to Sophie & Richard’s marquee (Florida Marquees Yorkshire) was stunning with flowers designed by S&A Floral Designs wedding dressing in the marquee from Save the Date and the bar was run by the brilliant Drinks Now – we loved the sound of the Secret Stourton cocktail! We are now working with a number of preferred suppliers who we can liaise with on your behalf and who know the venue – or you are more than welcome to source your own!
If you would like to talk to us about your big day and what we can offer please simply contact Julie in the office. We’d love to show you around and hear about your ideas for your special day!

Deer Diary
The deer calves are now well settled into their parkland surrounding and are very much enjoying the warmer weather. They seem to spend most of their time playing in their pond. The stags antlers are looking magnificent – they have finished growing and are about to lose their velvet…. Antony will have to be careful now!
On The Farm
Harvest has just started. The new CASE combine is performing brilliantly and there’s plenty of space in the cab for Oli’s Red Bull (other energy drinks are available)!
First to be harvested is the Winter Barley crop, followed by Oilseed Rape and then later in August the wheat crops. Fingers crossed for a dry few weeks and some smooth sailing / combining and corn carting.
Harvest is a hectic time of year on any farm, we have to snatch the harvest hours when the weather permits and the crop is dry enough. This means some pretty unsociable hours for our dedicated team. However it also marks the culmination of our farming year when all of our hard work in planting and tending the crops comes to fruition and is always incredibly satisfying.
Thanks go to Louth Tractors for supplying this incredible 35 foot header combine.
As you can see, it’s all go on the estate at the moment!
Don’t forget our Open day on Sunday 28th July and music festival Beyond the Woods on 9th & 10th August.
We look forward to seeing you soon
Helen & Antony
