We were absolutely delighted to welcome so many of you to our Sunflower Trail over the last couple of weeks. Thank you to everyone who came along and for sharing your pictures and videos with us - we've loved seeing them!![]()

Although the sunflowers have now passed their very best, visitors to the 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 will still be welcome to take a wander through the trail as part of their visit.![]()

We’re not the only ones feeling the effects of this hot, dry summer.![]()

The deer have been making excellent use of the shade and shelter provided by the woodland – and even taking advantage of their swimming ponds to cool down! 🌳💦![]()

With very little quality grass left in the parkland, we’ve also started feeding them some of the silage we had saved for winter.![]()

And they are certainly gobbling it up! 🦌![]()

Hopefully, once harvest is safely gathered in, we’ll get some much-needed rain to replenish the ground and get the grass growing again – something we suspect our gardens would appreciate too! 🌧️🌱![]()

It’s all go on the farm, with harvest now well underway – and, as we write this, we’re just a few days away from finishing!![]()

The hot, dry weather has meant we haven’t needed to do much crop drying this year, although unfortunately the conditions have also had an impact on yields.![]()

As fields are cleared, attention is already turning to what comes next. We’ve been spreading farmyard manure to improve soil health and provide valuable nutrients for future crops, as well as preparing ground for cover crops, oilseed rape and autumn-drilled wheat.![]()

The ground is incredibly hard and dry, though, so dare we say it… a good drop of rain would actually be very welcome!🌧️![]()

We moved the combine into another field, dealt with a breakdown while pushing up the beans 🙈, got stuck into combining the spring barley and then elevated it into the grain store.![]()
